Motor shaft encoder is one type of rotation sensor. Currently, it is the most often used sensor. The motor shaft encoder includes optical disc and photoelectric detecting parts. The optical disc and motor shaft rotate at the same speed. The led electrical parts detect it and output pulse signals at the same time.
When motor rotates, the motor shaft drives the encoder shaft moving. The inside electrical parts could convert the
mechanical motion to electrical signals which can be readout to show the real motion information of the shaft. That
is the encoder working principle. As one type of rotation sensor, it is the key parts in control system.
